I am thrilled to be entering my twentieth year of teaching and my fourth year as fourth grade teacher at Central School. Prior to moving to fourth grade, I was the school librarian at Central School for six wonderful years.
I was born and raised in Cambridgeport, Vermont, and I live today in a house half a mile away from where I was raised. I graduated from Bellows Falls Union High School and attended Tufts University, graduating summa cum laude. I have taught students from preschool to high school, but I have settled at the perfect spot for me: fourth grade! I love seeing these young learners, on the cusp of their second decade, as they span that space between young childhood and middle school. They are kind, funny, thoughtful, insightful, curious, and an all-around joy to teach!
I live in a small house in the middle of a beautiful meadow surrounded by Vermont forests. I love to read and to watch the wildlife out my window, especially the birds (and squirrels) at my feeders and the foxes, wild turkeys, deer, raccoons, and assorted other creatures that wander through my field. This past summer I had a regular bear visitor, what appeared to be a young male, probably in his second summer but his first summer on his own! I love spending time with my siblings, three sisters who live "away" and two brothers who live nearby, and going to concerts or the movies with my friends. This year I will also be continuing my work on my Masters degree, a M.Ed in Language and Literacy through Lesley University.
I welcome your emails with any questions or concerns, or just to share information about your child. I can be reached at [email protected]. You can also text me at 802-376-5044, but I do not get cell service at home (so your messages won't reach me until the next morning at school). Evening messages are best sent by email.
