Fourth Grade Social Studies focuses on Vermont history and government. Students will learn about geographic regions of Vermont as well as studying the major shifts in Vermont life from an agrarian society to an industrial society. The essence of Vermont will be encapsulated in a study of Calvin Coolidge, the 30th President of the United States, who used the term "brave little state" to describe Vermont in a 1928 speech.
